Golden Retrievers tend to be very active dogs, especially when young. They all require frequent opportunity to exercise in order to be happy and healthy. Proper bone, joint and muscle development results from regular age-appropriate exercise. However, proper care should be taken, especially during the first two years of the pup’s life, to decrease the risk of joint injury.

While all goldens require the opportunity to let off steam and get exercise for the sake of their health and their (and your) mental wellbeing, some dogs are more relaxed than others. As the pups mature, I will be better able to evaluate which pups may grow into more laid back adults and which are less likely to do so. Of course, there isn’t any guarantee.
